On October 29, 2015, about 6:00 p.m., strange things began happening at the old Evers House at 217 E. Oak Street in Denton (now the Law Office of David S. Bouschor, II). There was an apparition of an old man who may have once lived there. The old man was seen passing out candy to Trick or Treaters who were downtown on the square engaging in Halloween fun. Several children were too afraid to even approach the porch of the historic house, built in 1882, because of how scary it looked with its green lights hauntingly shining through the fog emanating from the house. But for those who were brave enough to approach the old man (and Denton’s children must be particularly brave because sometimes the line was as long as 20 children), they received delectable Halloween delights, and they said they are looking forward to seeing him again next year!
