Guardianship Law

Guardianship Law

David S. Bouschor has more than 15 years experience in helping his Denton County clients obtain guardianships in Denton County and beyond.

Guardianships are necessary when an adult has become partially or totally incapacitated and requires someone else to take care of their important affairs. Guardianships may also be necessary when minors inherit a large estate.

The guardianship process entails

  • filing an application with the court asking that one person be appointed as guardian of the person/estate.
  • the Court appointing an attorney to represent the proposed ward.
  • the Court investigator, along with the appointed lawyer, conducting a thorough review to ensure a guardianship is necessary.
